Abi Muhtari was born on November 1, 1964, in Gostivar, North Macedonia. He holds dual citizenship of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Switzerland. He is married and a father of four children. Abi is an entrepreneur and the owner of a full-service marketing agency based in Schlieren, Switzerland.

Since 1967, he has been living in Sarajevo, where he completed his primary and secondary education. From 1984 to 1985, he served in the Yugoslav People's Army (JNA) in Bela Crkva.

Due to the political situation in the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (SFRY), he moved to Belgium in 1986, where he worked in emergency services in the city of Ghent.

In 1990, he relocated to Switzerland and began working as a legal protection insurance consultant for “ARAG.” He quickly advanced to the position of Regional Sales Manager for Eastern Switzerland.

In September 1997, he graduated as a multimedia and brand designer in St. Gallen, Switzerland.

In October 1998, Muhtari founded his first marketing agency, “Xmedia Design,” which grew into a successful full-service marketing agency. In May 2008, the agency moved its headquarters to Zurich.

Muhtari is an award-winning designer, brand strategist, and interactive media expert, known for his unique ability to blend the functional and aesthetic dimensions of design.

  • Board member of the Dialogue Center EDEN in Aarau, Switzerland

  • President of the Board of the Albanian Cultural Center in Sarajevo

  • Head of Marketing and Communications for the Bosnian Academy of Sciences and Arts “Kulin Ban”

  • On April 24, 2023, he was elected an Honorary Academician of the Bosnian Academy of Sciences and Arts “Kulin Ban”
